Strengthen Your Teen's Testimony Through Real Adventure

Start Here

So What Exactly
Is OFY?

Outdoors for Youth is a five-day, Christ-centered summer camp for teens ages 11 to 18, held at our camp near Rexburg, Idaho. Campers sleep eight to a rustic cabin, with no electricity, no running water and very little cell service. Days are spent white water rafting, running the high ropes course, throwing tomahawks and flying down the Epic Mountain Slip 'N Slide. Evenings are firesides, prayer and scripture study, a sunset dance and a testimony meeting. OFY is run by Teton Experience, a non-profit founded by the former AFY leadership after BYU-Idaho discontinued that program in 2017. The short version: it is a real outdoor adventure where the Gospel of Jesus Christ is taught by living it, not by sitting in a classroom.

I have been here many times now and literally can't get enough. Super pretty Aspen groves surround cool features like a two lanes slip n slide. Ropes course. Climbing wall. Arrow tag arena. And they pull gospel principles out of all the activities they facilitate. Super impressed with the staff as well.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is OFY held?
OFY is held at Canyon Creek Outdoor Learning Center on the slopes of the Big Hole Mountains, about 30 minutes outside of Rexburg, in Newdale, ID.
What doctrine is taught at camp?
We teach doctrine from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints throughout the week. We welcome participants of all religious backgrounds, though!
Does OFY offer scholarships or financial aid?
Yes! We offer financial aid — just check out our financial aid application on the Financial Aid page.
My child has a food allergy or dietary limitation. Are they still welcome?
Yes! Our kitchen staff has a lot of experience with a variety of limitations. There is space during registration to share the details, and our kitchen lead will reach out about a week before camp to go over the menu with you.
Will my camper have cell service at camp?
Cell service is very limited at camp, so don't count on it. If a camper needs to reach a parent or guardian (or vice versa), we'll get them access to a phone.
Can I request to be in the same group as a friend?
Yes! During registration you'll be asked about group requests. We can promise one requested person in order to accommodate everyone's requests, and groups are separated by age.
